I believe that Holden has a lack of respect for authority. He dosen't respect teachers, or his parents. Also he has no motivation to get good grades in school. I think that he just does not think school is fun, or important so he dosen't try. Many kids today are like that because they think school is boring and pointless so they don't try. Kids always think that they have somthing better to do then go to school. Many kids can relate to Holden, because they don't want to say in school. School is very important, and Holden and other kids need to find the motivation to do well in school.
