Holden has some very interesting views on religion. He talks a lot about religion in chapter 14. He is feeling depressed, and he wants to pray, and that is when he starts to go on about religion. He says he is sort of an atheist, but he still likes Jesus. Also he said that he does not like the disciples, and I thought that was weird because I've never heard someone say that before. I believe that his thoughts on religion are similar to other teens. There is lots of stuff with religion that people don't know, and I think that a lot of people are just like Holden.

  1. interesting. it is pretty clear Holden is able to find some serious probles with religion, but do you believe his dislike is stemed from not being able to understand religion as a whole? for example you mentioned the lack of knowledge in teenagers in general yet a lot of teens still do believe or practice a religion. so why then does it put Holden off? do the disciples represent any thing? good work :)

  2. Jbanks you made some very interesting points. I'm not quite sure what the disciples represent.I believe that Holden puts off religion because he dosent know what he wants in life.
