I believe that Holden is still a child, but is a lot like an adult too. He acts like an adult because he is very independent, and he can pretty much do whatever he wants. Holden does not live with his parents, and he can get a hotel in New York without telling anybody. He is like a child because he is not very responsible. He gets kicked out of schools, and he drinks and smokes. I think that Holden is still a child, but he is very mature for a child. One good thing about childhood is not having very many responsibilties. When you become an adult you have to provide for yourself, and do everything on your own. I believe that childhood has its benifits, and so does adulthood.

I also think Holden is very mature. But he is also very immature in many ways too. I would agree he is still a child but I dont think it is because he drinks and smokes and has bad grades.
